What are the benefits of organic cotton?
Why did you decide to launch Bear and Burrow Baby?
Proudly Australian-owned
Bear and Burrow Baby (Bear & Burrow) is an organic cotton baby brand owned by a mama of two adorable boys and their fluffy fur-baby, nestled amongst wattle and gum trees in the beautiful region of Melbourne, Australia.
All natural
Our story started when our first baby was born. Dealing with the newborn heat rash, dry and sensitive skin and eczema later on, and the added concern all new parents have around SIDS, mama sought advice from health and safe sleep experts and went on a mission to switch to only the purest, most breathable, comfortable and natural fibre for her little bub - organic cotton.
More than a swaddle
As a new mama and minimalist, the infinite number of baby products out there was overwhelming. Having had two (under 2 at that), the humble yet versatile muslin wrap was one of the most-loved baby products, adding a bit of simplicity during those two complicated years. A stylish swaddle, bassinet liner, blanket, nursing cover, burp cloth, bunny rug, bath towel, pram cover and a scarf for mum - all-in-one and to use for years to come!
Bear and Burrow
With a tug at the heartstrings to create adorably designed products that help and educate fellow parents around infant skin sensitivity and safe sleep, simplify the new baby journey, the idea for our brand was brought to life.
We wanted to encapsulate all things cute, cuddly, sleepy and snuggly. That's Bear and Burrow.
Our signature wombat
Seeking a little help from her sister who likes to combine her passion for wildlife and doodling, the cute and cuddly wombat sketch became the perfect emblem for Bear and Burrow.
Cute wombat facts:
- Much like newborns, wombats spend most of their time sleeping in their burrows during the day, for up to 16 hours a day
- Wombats sleep on their backs with their little legs up in the air
- Wombat joeys spend their first 7-10 months of their life in their mother's pouch - how snuggly.
